Sage 50 Accounts Mobile overview

The release of Sage 50 Accounts 2012 saw Sage take its first steps into mobile accounting with its smartphone app that allows users to view and enter date directly via iPhone, iPad and Blackberry devices.  An Android application is currently under construction.

The Sage 50 mobile app is designed for field based staff who might want to look at customer data and use it, managers who may want to view outstanding balances or account totals, or other users who don’t normally sit in front of the usual desktop program. Accountants can even customise the app so they can view and access multiple company accounts.  Mobile access is undoubtedly the next big technology solution to improve staff utilisation and efficiency. Perhaps surprisingly the app is free

The setup steps are pretty easy:

There are some extra steps for the networked version and you may need to look at firewall settings but both can be addressed fairly easily.

Another major requirement is that the Sage PC needs to be on (it won’t work if it is in ‘sleep’ mode’) but this can be overcome by using a hosted desktop service from suppliers.

Make sure you have a Sage password - This is what you normally use to access www.sage.co.uk

Configure your Sage system to allow mobile access – Tools>Internet Options>Mobile tab

Setup mobile users and give them appropriate access rights – Sage Professional can support up to 10 concurrent users.  It can take up to 15 minutes to create the subscription when new users are set up.

Download the Sage 50 Mobile App for your iPhone, iPad or Balckberry making sure your Sage pc is on and connected to the internet.

Connect to your Sage data remotely and away you go!

Reasons for:

Manage your accounts on the move: Sage 50 Accounts Mobile gives you access to four main areas of your accounts data: customers, suppliers, finance and products and pricing.

Free to use: 50 Accounts Mobile is free to download and use with Sage 50 Accounts 2012. No limit to the amount of data you can transfer using your mobile app and there's no limit to the number of people in your business who can download and use it*.

Save time and impress your customers: set up new customers and create quotations, orders and invoices on the spot using your mobile device.

Keep your data safe: all data transferred using the Sage 50 Accounts Mobile app is securely encrypted, giving you peace of mind that the data you transfer using your mobile is in safe hands.

Easy to use: with a simple setup process, it's quick to get started. Its intuitive interface means it requires little accounts knowledge so you can quickly and easily get up and running.

With Sage 50 Accounts Mobile you can view:
